Vampire Monster
I was born a vampire since both my parents are vampires. As a child there were no signs of being any kind of creature. Baby vampires appear human until their 16th Birthday. Starting a month before my birthday I started showing signs of my transformation. It began with my hair growing a darker red and them my skin slowly faded. My friends noticed the difference so I told them I'd recently become a vegetarian. The closer my birthday approached the further into my transformation I went. A week before the big day I found my appetite had changed, I still ate normal food but I had a huge craving for rare meat. One night after dinner, my parents sat me down with them in the living room. They explained to me I'd have to be home schooled starting the day of my birthday. Shock and horror came crashing down on me but then pure happiness. I was overjoyed to know I'd be done with public school and all that went with it. My parents reasoning for pulling me out was that once I became a full vampire I'd be a danger to others. I understood and broke the news to my friends the next day at school. Finally, my birthday came and when I woke up I looked in the mirror to find a new face looking back at me. My eyes had grown darker and black veins appeared around my eyes. I smiled and noticed two long, sharp fangs protruding from my gums. I squealed and ran down stairs to be embraced in my parents arms. Then we all celebrated my birthday with a nice steak dinner.

Art21 Reponse Paper #1
Paul Pfeiffer- One thing I liked about Paul Pfeiffer's work was that he put a whole new perspective on his artwork. As he viewer, I was able to look at things from a different point of view, ex: the mini diorama of a house with the peep hole and you could see the staircase through the hole. His inspirations and sources of his work come from sports like basketball and hockey. Some themes he talked about using in his work included action shots, videos, and computer generated recreations of props from Hollywood. By removing parts of the images in his videos we aren't focused on watching the center of attention anymore, instead the viewers see the background or other things that we usually wouldn't watch or notice. The importance of the titles of his work make the viewer think about their meanings and how they connect to the artwork. His work connects to electronic multimedia because he is using cameras and videos as the media he's working with to create his pictures or videos.
Oliver Herring- My favorite artwork of his was the men spitting food dye all over themselves. I really enjoyed those pictures because the color adds so much more variety and interest to the pictures and it brings out the color of the mens' eyes. His motivaton for the work he creates is from a drag performance artist who committed suicide in 1991. Some themes used were time (doing something over and over like knitting), abstract painting, and large-scale photographs. His work is electronic multi-media because he uses cameras to capture photographs and videos. When I saw him directing people to do actions or pose a certain way it inspired me to want to do the same. I would love to use people (models/actors/friends/etc..) to pose for me and do whatever I ask in order to make art.

My Art Theme
My overall theme I'd like to work with would be fantasy. Although vague, there are many different types of fantastical ideas I'd like to work with. I love to include magic and dream like things within my work. For example, a fantasy landscape with floating buildings or platforms of land with waterfalls in the sky. But I also like to do portriats with a fantasy twist to them like a girl with wings or vampires. I want to be able to do many different types of pictures but all under the fantasy theme. If I had to narrow it down to one specific theme I'm not sure what I'd choose because I want to do it all. I couldn't choose landscapes over portraits. I thought about doing fantasy novel illustrations as my theme but I wouldn't want every single project of mine to correlate with a book. Hopefully, If I have to narrow it down from the fantasy theme, I will be able choose a theme that covers all the different types of pictures I like to create.
